The Parthenon Sessions
Jill’s latest EPs…
My EP Vultures is a compilation of songs that I've been working on with friends as far back as 2013. They are all songs that we wrote specifically for film/tv (plus a One Republic cover of "Apologize") that I've always really loved and resonated with but I didn't know what to do with them because they were different. So they JUST SAT.
Every year or so I would go through my catalog of songs and pull aside the ones that I really liked. When the pandemic came, it felt like the perfect time to release them into the world and show you a different side of myself. This EP pushes the boundaries of my folksy roots more into the electronic realm. It's still very much me.
Thanks to Tofer Brown, Lucas Morton, Andrew Petroff, Ruslan Odnoralov, Jeremy Lutito, Phillip Larue, and Jeff Bowman for making these songs with me.
When I first moved to Nashville, many of the songs I recorded were never released into the world, including the six you see here. They’re somewhat of a harkening back for me. They’re who I’ve been, who I am, and who I can be. That’s ultimately how I named this new EP: Ellen, my middle name. This project feels like in the middle space between where I’ve been, who I am, and where I’m going.
Ellen, out everywhere now.
